my pc restarts itself. mostly when i try to play video games online (when the game is loading)but also smetimes when i try to play a song, or go on the internet or something Ive been told that this could be do to the temperature of the cpu which is around 67C but could this be do to RAM problems (couldnt instal windows the pc couldnt find files that were there)so i took out one of the RAm sticks and it works now but could there be something with the other one if its because of the high temperature I heard that cleaning out the dust would help and i tried that but it didnt help and do u think getting a new RAM would help thanks
AMD athlon 2800+ ghz 512 DDR SDRAM graphic card Geforce6600 120gb what else is there I was just typing an essay for school and halfway there the fuckin pc restarted and I lost everything
hmm 512 ram could be the issues if you have to many proccess running but also a virus or power supply problem. hit alt-ctrl and delete and tell me how many proccess you have running. if its over 40 that could be the problem with just 512ram (maybe)
i got 26 proccesses running and its all just basic stuff I just reinstalled windows so its not much going on yet Im gonna go check out the temperature now
ok so I restarted the pc checked the temperature and as I was going onto this site the pc shuts down the screen goes black and the message comes up that the resolution is messed up. another thing is that the pc was turned off but the light was on. oh I should say that it used to restart itself now its just shutting down The temp is 61C and 140F degrees cpu fan speed is 4787rpm system fan 2122 rpm is this normal?
sorry dude i was playing bf2142 no thats hot and with your fans spinning that fast and your still that hot, somthing is wrong. you need to refit you cpu heat sink. more ram will make you system perk up but thats not the problem, right now iv got 29 processes and im only using 269mb of ram. you want to get somthing like this and follow this. more ram is no good if your cpu is fried. does your case have any fans? or vents? or fan mounts where you can fit a fan or two? im guessing with those temps(and fan speed) that your using a p4, the best air cooler you can get are these and it would drop your temps even more but you will still need to follow the first two links to fit it.
hmm weird sorry about the ram suggestion i thought you said you removed the ram and it worked? But yea its prob overheating try takeing the side off and run it without it for awhile see if it shuts down
Sup, Power issues are mostly caused by cheap power supplies, depending on the company and voltage it will die out after years. I had this problem before and the power supply began to damage my motherboard and processor because of voltage issues, I ran a game (shuts off), I ran a shrink (shuts off). I started to notice it was the power supply because it had some cheap company there (Sparkle Corp.), and it made lots of noise. I recommend you check the power supply and get back to us. Give us the company and the voltage. I'll answer back.
