Dbox Problems?

Ive got a sagem Dbox2 here and basically ive got it working except not the box itself works it boots and shows pictures but i cant somehow seem to get it to connect or "talk" to my computer.

According to the computer there is nothing there, there is no ping response at all.

I used the following guide but i cannot connect to the Dbox and everything i can see it set correct... subnet mask ip address, the cable is fine i have no clue at all what to do please help?

 

Read other posts, some one has explained how to connect the dbox to a pc by a crossover cable and also by 2 ethernet cables and a router.

one thing i found with a few images , is when you change the ip address in settings , then click view current network settings the ip address has not changed sometimes the default gateway does this also, and i found that if this happened i just changed the ip address and or the default gateway to what ever it said in the view current network settings , and change the ip of my pc network card to suit and usually it worked fine.

Hi there, I have just bought a Dbox 2 from Germany & when I try to put the movie channels on, some of them just freeze, it also happens on one or two of the other channels. I have rescanned & have had npo luck. I can get all the other channels though.

I am living in the ROI also have had a NOKIA dbox for about a year and now is finding the channels and the listing but picture only lasts for about 3 mins then freezes and goes any ideas would be great

I am getting nothing but bad scans in dublin at the moment. My working cables-service-bouquet wtih the new bubble hits channel is here

FTP it onto your box if in dublin & ntl. If it is still not working it is probably the ucode/emu settings.

 

The problem from casper75 has nothing to do with scanning.
Evocamd simply override valid keys with wrong keys from a rom10 or a rom11 key update.
It looks like nobody is willing to delete the rom10 and rom11 files in /var/keys.

 

Hi there, I have a Dbox 2 from Germany & when NTL changed to Virging my Dbox has not been able to update. I cant add or delete channel & all the channels have been moved & Im stuck on the NTL side. If I reboot it take a good 15 mins to get the channels back, its the same if I recsan. I can see the new updates on the scan but they will not store.

 

If you filled up the flash memory till to the last bit with a failed recording attempt only a reflash can help.
Full is full and there is no space left to store anything.

Simply read a tutorial about dbox flashing.
Its normally childs play.

 

No you do not send it off, you need to download a software called IFA (image flashing assistant) and get an image to load on to your box, its either x1 or x2 depending on what dbox you have, once the image is loaded you need to do a service scan to pick up all the channels and depending on the image you may need to install the keys.

Raxx thanks for that, but I have never even connected my Dbox 2 to the PC. Not to sure on what to do there, as Im not techno minded.

 

you need a cross over ethernet cable and a null modem cable, connect them to your box and into the back of your pc. and from there use the software to load the image on the box
