So I couldn't get my old PC's HD to coexist nicely with my new PC and DVD burner so I have decided to try and sell it on eBay. Only problem is now I can't seem to "find" the drive on my PC to reformat it. I remember going to MY COMPUTER > DEVICE MANAGER and then DISABLING the drive but now I can't seem to just simply ENABLE it. It doesn't give me a drop down menu unless I'm looking in the wrong spot or doing something wrong. I've tried to reconnect the IDE cables to no luck. Everything is hooked the same way it's been for months. I just DISABLED the HD so i didn't have to open my PC again and so it wouldn't slow down my DVD burner so drastically. Any help? Ideas? Anything? Thanks.

Try running the Add Hardware wizard in control panel.

Can you put it another PC to reformat it?

At times one of my hard drives will disappear in what sounds like a similar way. What usually helps is to disable it from the BIOS, reboot, and then enable it again. Sometimes I have to do it once and it works, others I have to do it several times. Does the drive show up in the setup screen? Does it show "unknown device"?
