Ok, Some of you may know this or are not having issues but I had to get this thread in the Afterdawn database for future searchers.

First if you have any Xvid codecs (nemo etc..) get rid of them. Search for this codec version:XviD-04102002-1 (Koepi vers.)

Then for the AC3 codec use this version:
    ac3filter_0_68b

With these two instructions installed you should be able to view Xvid movies with a current windows media player in Windows XP.

Your Nero should be fairly current, I have version : Nero55917

    I have mpeg2 plugin version :(www.mmcidirect.com) - Nero SVCD MPEG2 Plug-in

Make sure you have correct size Xvid files (disc 1, disc 2..maybe a disc 3), Nero does not split files!!

Open Nero Express and pick SVCD creation then chill..go to the start menu and go to the Xvid Avic Four CC changer and browse to the first file you want to burn. When you have it selected change both boxes to Divx and click ok,close.

Go back to Nero and select the file and get it in the window as a file you are ready to burn. Then select properties and the second tab in that window will give you a preview of the movie. It should be right side up not inverted. If so you can burn and repeat steps from then on.

Previous to this Nero would have shown your preview upside down in the properties menu of the selected file in Nero Express.

I know Nero is not the greatest but many want to do this and I'm just trying to get more answers out there for forum searchers.

    Later

Why use Nero as encoder, when a program made as an encoder is is a better option, like DVD2SVCD & CCE SP or TMPGEnc!

Aye... perhaps VDub might be simpler and more effective?

P.S. Every one says Nero sucks for encoding but for fast jobs it is not bad. I just did XVID conversion to SVCD doing what I said above with a movie called 28 days ----- and it turned out excellent.

Well consider yourself lucky. Unfortunately with Nero encoding... it tends to be hit and miss!

TMPGEnc beats Nero for SVCD, CCE SP beats TMPGEnc for SVCD, nero is the lowest lol!
