Yesterday my old monitor which came with the computer went bad.Basically not turning on and it was old so i just threw it in the garbage.Went to best buy and i got a samsung 19inch flat WIDEscreen lcd.I have loaded the drivers and i have set the display mode at true color 1280 by 1024.Big high resolution pictures look great but everything else like internet webpages, fonts etc all look weird despite my changing the font size. This is a fairly old computer (1.8 ghz celeron) so do i need to upgrade my video card to use to this monitor properly or should i just swap this for a smaller 17inch lcd??? Also is it possible that because this is a "widescreen" monitor that this is normal for it???
1200 by 1000 is not widescreen, that would be 1200 by 700. if your screen is a wide screen and your forcing that resolution through it it will look strange, it will be all squashed. now it could be that your graphics doesn't support this resolution, which means you will need to replace your current one. if it does, change it to the right resolution, jobs a good un.
