I have downloaded several movies and they all have the foreign captions at the bottom but the movie is in english. How can I get rid of the captions?

No way to do this, sorry -- those are "burned" permanently to the video. And those "closed captions" as Americans call them, are subtitles for everyone else :-)

Actually most of us call it subtitles. The only time I hear closed caption is when their talking about the optional subtitles that you can turn on for your television.
