Got myself a real nice 30 gig i-pod video yesterday and have just started to load music etc on it. I had another I-pod that was not video so I tunes etc was already on my pc. I charged the new pod up but on connecting it to my pc it did not seem to do anything. It was plugged direct into a usb and the pod had been charged fully for about 24 hrs. Finally I am now getting "Do Not Disconnect" flashing on the screen and a red logo. I have my I-tunes open but no-where does it say that its updating & not to disconnect. I have the latest version of I-Tunes, should it not tell me something? I also purchased the full version of dvdXsoft and have "processed" a dvd to put on the pod but so far have been unable to move it into tunes. Have seen the tutorial but is does not seem to help.Any ideas anyone?
Mean't to ask I have 120 songs just under 500 megabytes plus a dvd, anyone any idea as to how long it should take to load it onto the pod?
I am thinking that I have a lousy cable from my pc to pod. After over 12 hrs I was still getting the "Do Not Disconnect" on the screen! Finally after another 5 hrs I disconnected it and then reconnected it. Low & behold I then got the message that my pod was being updated from my pc!! Once the pc had finished updating the pod I was still getting a "Do Not Dissconnect" on the pod. Does this make any kind of sense. I dissconected it and as far as I can tell all the video & music is on the pod ok. The only thing is the video sound level is not great so I am re converting it with higher sound levels and making it only one file. Any ideas anyone?
