Editing Commercials out of Video taken from DVD Recorder

    I recently started recording my favorite shows to DVD using a stand alone dvd recorder. I want to be able to toake the dvd onto my computer and edit the files so that I can cut out commercials and burn it back onto a dvd. Currently the dvd reads as a bunch of VTS and Bup files. What can I do to accomplish this goal. I've read similiar threads and cant seem to get a grasp on what to do.
