hi, i tried recently to install all my codecs and for some reason i'm getting a lot of errors. The first thing that I did is change my Nimo Pack from build 5 to an 8. Since there was something in there that you needed in order to get your TMPGnec audio to work (I have no idea what but the help on the site mentioned installing Nimo Pack). but then when I did all that my xvid on my MP seems to be having a lot of problems. i keep on getting errors like "xvid.dll cant be found" or that there's a newer "xvid that can be downloaded place update your directshow filters." Then it makes my Media Player crash. so i decided to like uninstall my xvid and see if it might be installation problem. Now when i try to install them im getting 2 errors on the installation. namely that "xvid.ax" cant be re-written? and that xvid.dll cant be found." Ive been reading some of the posts here and they suggested that i should uninstall my nimo packet. is this effective? coz if i do this what codecs do i need to play all my divx's and make my TMPGne audio work? also... how can i get my xvid installation errors to go away?
Aye... xvid is very picky... there are several builds available and they tend not to like each other. You should uninstall ALL your codecs and then install only the ones you need. Same goes for all your other codecs too! Might you consider also, FDDSHOW?
