I'm really confused with these two models of graphics card. They're both at entry level. (6-series) GeForce 6500, and (7-series) GeForce 7300GT I've searched the internet. The specs show that 7300 GT has 8 pipelines, 6500 has 4 pipelines. However, 7300GT has a lower core clock and RAMDAC, compared to 6500. Can anybody please tell me which graphic card is BETTER (between the two models)... erm... of course... for gaming. Just dont recommend me to buy a 7950GTX. It's already over my budget.
u could go and buy a 6600gt which beats the 7300gt and the 6500gt and is probably worth some 100bucks or less
the 73 is the better card, the core mhz doesnt realy matter as the gpu is newwer tech. i do have to say that it wont give you great fps if your a gamer. the 7600gt is a good budget card for games that wil give you good fps at high settings on a low resolution screen. check here for a comparison of some cards.
marsey marsey a 6600gt beats a 7300gt anyday dude "gpu newer tech" doesnt mean anything now if u wanna talk about numbers and benchmarks the 6600gt wins even the link that YOU gave supports my answer as the 6600gt being "rare" u could find it on newegg and on amazon (of course u wont find it on a new local store that just opened near ure house)

u can say that...ok 6500 and 7300...both of these card r crap...now left with 6600GT and 7600GT...as far as i know...7600GT is a improvement of 6600GT...so i suggest u go for 7600GT...howeva is u could wait a bit longer and save more money...i suggest u buy 7950GT...its a awesome card...but since ur low on cash 7600GT is very good...and a SLI of that...is awesome...
I found the there's another thing 6600GT DUAL GPU. Is this the SLI version(2 cards) of 6600GT, it looks thicker than other cards... worth it to buy?
i think it will be 2 cards for sli as to my knowledge the only twin gpu is the gx2. (can you post a link to it?) sli looks great on paper, the truth of it is it's not. double the price, double the power requirments, double the heat made in your case and only about 140% performance over one card. add to that the fact that you only get the benefit in games that are optimized for sli. you are always best buying the (1) most expesive card you can afford then, if you can with your mobo, add another later when the price has dropped to give you a boost in performance. unless you have silly money to spend and want the ultimate rig, but how many off are that lucky? edit @elokito i was comparing it to the 65 not the 66, but have you tried to get one recently? the 66,68 gt's the 800,850xt's are like rocking horse manure.
Ok... this is a jumble of nonsense. The cards are in this order. Weakest to strongest. 6500 7300GT GDDR2 6600GT 7600GS 7300GT GDDR3 7600GT 7950GT First off, the 6500 is pure crap, plain and simple. It isn't an official card. Just a filler for fools dumb enough to spend money on it. There are TWO versions of the 7300GT and both perform well. But the version with faster GDDR3 memory is a few steps ahead and out-paces the 6600GT and 7600GS. The 6600GT and 7600GS are almost equal in most areas with the 7600GS barely topping the 6600GT. All four here should play most newer games maxed at 1024x768 or 1280x1024. I'm talking FarCry, Doom3, Half-Life 2, Prey, Battlefield 2, Quake 4. Not the most demanding anymore but still damn good looking. The 7600GT is a ways ahead of the others and will play most new games high or maxed out at 1024x768 or 1280x1024 quite well. The 7950GT is the fastest of the lot here by far and will play ANY game maxed at 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 with a few exceptions(maybe FEAR, definitely Oblivion.) I have done my homework on ALL of these cards and I KNOW exactly how they perform in modern games. Use my advice if you plan to buy into any of these cards. @hang0000, If you need a card right away you should go for the 7600GS or the 7600GT. Hello. Now I planned to buy a 7600GT. The official website listed it requires a 400W power. My PSU (Power Supply Unit) supplies 450W. Though it seems like it meets the requirement. I just want to make sure that 7600GT can work in a CPU with 450W of power. *** Is there any other requirement for 7600GT?
Whats the rest of your system? I would recommend this to get the most potential out of your 7600GT: P4 3.2GHz or A64 3200+/3500+ 1GB of RAM at the least And your PSU should be fine for it.
Well, my PC has the following specifications: PentiumD 2.67Ghz 512MB of RAM 450Mhz of PSU ... and now I have bought that 7600GT (Winfast) and it runs quite well. I can say it's a marvellous card. Now I think the only problem I have is the RAM, I need at least 1 GB... Thank you anyways.
Yep, It's in my post further up EDIT: And, yes I think it would be good to get more RAM. Get a dual channel 1GB kit and dump your current 512. Trust me, dual channel is much faster than single channel.
yeah stepping it up to a 7600GT card was a better choice, the newer games like Rainbow 6 Vegas are really getting advanced as far as the processor needed and the graphics cards. It has a much faster core clock speed and more pipelines. Better max resolution, and more Nvidia features included. Now i know it is about $60 more but if your going to buy one it might as well be a good mid level card that will last you a little while. I have the PCI-E version by XFX and it runs even Rainbow 6 Vegas without flaw. But i am also running 2GB of good RAM and 5GHz processor which probably helps. You really need more Ram (good RAM like OCZ, Corsair or Crucial), at least 1GB and if possible to overclock the processor to at least 3.0GHz or the newer games are going to start giving you problems.
And I suppose that 5GHz processor has water cooling or phase change? I think for now that the D805 will be fine. But the RAM needs an upgrade for sure.
