so i have battlefield 2 and recently got special forces as well. after i finished installing special forces, i try playing it and it goes to a black screen as if it's loading for a while, then goes back to my desktop. i then try playing battlefield 2, and that does the same now too! i re-installed battlefield 2, and that's back up and working but whenever i try re-installing special forces, the same problem occurs. does anyone know what the problem is? my computer meets all the requirements and stuff. a friend told me it's some problem in the patching, can anyone confirm this and does anyone know a way around this? thx
I checked at the 3dgamers website. They have no update patch for Special Forces listed. You said your system meets all the requirements. I would suggest you contact the support people who made the game. Look on any forum their website might have for help. If a patch is needed and one is not yet available, you will probably have to wait until one is published. Some games are VERY picky.
thanks for the reply rulisky. i guess contacting the support staff of the game would be best. as for the patching, what i meant was not an update patch for special forces, but when installing special forces, it automatically patches battlefield 2 to version 1.1 (i believe it was). i think that this is where the error occurs. i had a friend with the same problem and he told me that if i did not have the internet connected while installing special forces, this would help. i tried that and it still does not work for me.
I had alittle trouble when I first got BF2. Check your system resources in task manager and shut down items you don't need. If you play single player. Disconnect from internet and shut down anti-virus and firewall. But remember to enable them when you re-connect to the net. There is a BF2 patch 1.4 Has a new map and fixes. Check their website.
there are 6 or 7 patches and u must install all of them to play bf2 and special forces the patcvhes are both games.
