hello, i have a dell pc that has 2x1024Mb gigs of DDR2-PC2-4300 (266mhz) ram. I was wondering if i can mixed my ddr2 rams with 2x1024Mb DDR2-PC5300-667Mhz.
if they have no issues with your mobo yes, but they will all have to run at the speed of the slowest stick.
i think hes mixxed up between the normal and dual data rates. pc3200 = 200mhz @ ddr = 400mhz (ddr) pc4300 = 266mhz @ ddr = 533mhz (ddr2)
first page google gave me was this which just baffles me. pc2-3200 400mhz ddr2 ???wtf??? download cpuz or everest and see what that says edit it also says 184 pin dimm which is ddr, ddr2 is 240 pin.
appears to be ddr2 according to this link. http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim8400/SM/specs.htm#wp1052308
well i ran this program called "cpu-z" and this is what it says http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o143/roachkillah/Memory.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o143/roachkillah/SPD.jpg
aww that sucks ... i'd have 4 gigs of ram.. but it would be better though, right? it'd make a difference but not that much?
