I put the simpsons and mission impossible 3 into my dvd-rom and use window media player and i get this message "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a problem occurred with digital copyright protection." I'd like to know how to fix this problem. I play underworld on it two weeks ago.

Welcome to the wonderful world of drm.. use an older version of media player. When you install an older version turn windoze auto updates OFF

Uninstall your current WMP completely and install WMP 9 from http://www.oldversion.com. Make CERTAIN to patch it via Windows Update and also go into Tools->Options and disable "Enable automatic codec download" as well as "Run script commands when present", and uncheck everything under the "privacy" tab.
