Hey. I have been trying to use Gordian Knot to backup my DVDs, but I consistently get the same error when I click to Encode. Here is the log file (I know it's long):
    7/24/2003 2:14:21 PM: Job "The_Patriot" started.

    o DivX5-Single, Quality 20%: C:\THE_PATRIOT\VIDEO_TS\first_Credits.avs
    o DivX5-First Pass: C:\THE_PATRIOT\VIDEO_TS\first.avs
    o DivX5-Second Pass: C:\THE_PATRIOT\VIDEO_TS\first.avs
    o Append Credits.
    x Delete Intermediate Files (disabled).
    End of Job 1 (The_Patriot).

The problem occurs when it says "Number of counted frames differs from settings!" then it quits and I don't know what to do. I like using Gordian Knot(0.27) because it has so many options, but I can't get it to work. I have also tried EasyDivx 1.02 to no avail and Dr. Divx which works only occasionally (at least when the audio and video are in sync). Does anyone out there have a good program that works well, is easy, yet offers options? Or should I keep using G. Knot?

    Thanks for your help!!!

What is the framerate of the movie?

What were the settings you chose when you encoded the movie?

I have tried DVDs at 23.976 and 29.970.
Not sure what you need for settings,
so I will list the categories and then what I use:
Resolution: NTSC anamorphic,Input Resolution(NTSC),Smart Crop All
Bitrate: 1 CD/sometimes 2CDs of 700MB,Audio A (128 KB) and have tried opening the audio file too, I have calculating overhead checked with 1xac3 checked at one frame, (Divx5 radio clicked)
When I get ready to encode, a click on the AudioA tab, select the 448 ac3 file, then click just mux
Then on the divx tab I click add job.
Before it starts encoding, I use neutral bicubic, compressibility at 1%/sometimes 5%
All other settings are at default I believe.

Hope this answers your question-if not I will post a more detailed account.

    Again, thanks for your response.

Hmmm...do you get the framerate of the movie down to 23.967 using force film or do you use the inverse telecine function with Gknot?

I use Force Film if I need to. I have never used
    the other option.
