right I got a 240gb hard drive for my pc (internal) but whenever i fill it too much 100gb more or less it corrupts everything on the drive and i have to reformat it I updated the bios to allow support for 125+gb drives but that hasn“t helped

any suggestions would be most greatful

You could try partitioning it so it is setup like 3 80GB hard drives.

Will need as much information as you can provide. Computer make and model, Drive make and model. All the details. Todays computers have no problem working with 500+ gig drives if everything is set up right. Older systems and OS's can have problems but there is usually a way around them.

i don't think partitioning will work i tried 2 120gb partitions and as soon as you start using the second partition say 10 gb in it has the same problem and i lose just that second partition
i'll try note down everything about my pc it'll just take me a while
thanks for the fast responses though!

The hard drive may be on its way out, even if it is new. If under warranty, send it back.

    Search for viruses, then.
