Received modded xbox from a friend. DUOX2. 09 error, looking for help. Huge noob

Its chipped with a blue DUO X2 chip, that says AMD on it. At the start screen it shows EVOX in a purple triangle on the top left. Then it goes traight to the service required screen, and shows 09 in the top left. My understanding is this is a hard drive error, and the topic here says to try a different one. However, I currently do not have access to a different hard drive, so I was wondering if there is anything I can do with the one that was in there (80 gig Maxtor)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

you can try a new IDE cable but most of the time it's the MOBO controller when you have harddrive comunication error (09)
