Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Using Imtoo and best DVD to AVI (etc) Ripping S/W?

#1 18 Dec 2006 @ 7:50
I've started trying to use Imtoo DVD Platinum v4.0 Ripper on a friend's PC which begs a few questions;

- is this the best s/w to buy for myself or is there a better one? Mostly I'll be ripping DVDs to avi/divx/xvid) but will also begin ripping to other formats such as mp4...)

- reading through one of the afterdawn forum guides it look like Imtoo is identical to Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum - Is this true?

- In using Imtoo I can't seem to get the s/w to rip the whole DVD to 700 MB. I have set the "Split" setting to both Infinite and 700 MB but I only get the output (track) files to be less than 700 MB, not the whole DVD. What am I missing???

- It has too many out-of-sync problems on most of my DVD collections. And it also took me several weeks to disput this charge with credit card company, they even refused to return the faulty product. But different people have varied experience, try it out yourself before you find out which one suits you best.

- Yes, they look pretty much alike.
