For the past 2 weeks i've had a multi-boot enviroment setup on my computer as follows (c80gb Windows XP(w/ a 7gb recovery partition(e(actual windows space is about 67gb)) (D60gb Windows 2000 20gb Ubuntu linux 6.10 x86_64 Everything has been working fine all os's having been running well untill now that is,about 2 days ago windows xp at start runs chkdsk saying that drive Erecovery partition) needs to be checked for inconsistency or something. so i thought fine this kinda thing is normal. the next day i boot into win2k it gets halfway through the boot then i get a blue screen saying boot device inaccessible. restarted and still i got it so to save time and agony i decided to just format the hdd and reinstall win2k, i get through save setup files to the hdd, i reboot. when i select at boot to go to my win2k hdd to continue the install, it doesnt instead it goes to windows xp boot loader screen where win2k/winxp/and the recovery partition are all there except i cant go onto any of them i always get an error, plus on top of that my linux os wont boot either. I guess what i'm asking is will i be able to get my winxp up and running again? Thanks in advance for any help, if not thanks anyways.
you can use your windows cd to repair windows on the drive on which it is not working. just boot from the cd and follow the instructions, i think you press r or something along those lines.
boot from winxp cd choose recovery console pick the correct o/s at the prompt put in admin password type chkdsk /r it ought to enable your xp check the win2k is trying to install on the correct partition
