hello there. im a little confused.

1- my laptop was working fine this afternoon, i powered off and it shut down fine. then i tried to power up later and it wont work. i checked the ac adapter and it is fine as i have another laptop that uses the same adapter. so my laptop is totally dead. no led lights no nothing.

now what is gettin me confused is the fact that i went to the hp support chat and we troubleshooted and the support tech quoted me a final repair price with shipping. generally, one would ship the laptop and then the techs would take a look and send a quote or estimate. in my case they didnt even look at the product and went straight to the repair price of $299 including shipping.

the troubleshoot was only a refreshing of power system, wich was to remove battery and ac cord and hold the powet button for 30 seconds, then re-connect everything.

oh, and the worst thing is, the warranty expired november 23rd 2006. just few weeks ago.

someone please give me an opinion or let me know if there is a failure in these series.

    thanks!
