I was always one of those hardcore 1.5'ers "never gonna update to sh*t".
3.02 OE-B is literally almost the new 1.5
It's played all my apps, ISO's. Its got a recovery mode, so thats a big load off your back. And psp Content manager 1.5 arranges the icons :) (for the anal retentive, like myself) Im playing Resident Evil 3 Right now, and as far as the saves go, I dont really see myself carrying more than 1 psx game at a time anyway, especially at their sizes, not with all the juicy homemade psp iso's I have. Im converting Metal Gear Solid VR Missions and silent hill now and will decide which one(s) to keep.

eternalis quik questin...Since the 3.02 has a hacked firmware does that mean the firmware is buggy for hackers to create downgrades for easyier then others???or does the hacked firmware have nothing to do with downgrades?

im not going to be able to use this am i? i upgraded to 3.02 when i got my psp, but it was only today that i found this hack. is there any possible way to do this with an updated psp? when i try to make the data.dxxx file it loads the psp intro, then glow black, then an error code pops up telling me it failed to run. does the d-something file have to be made on the psp that will be upgraded, or could i have someone give me one?
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

@Thoatih- The firmware isn't buggy. However hackers have been able to decrypt/extract it and reverse engineer parts if not all of it. However no exploit has been found to allow you to run unsigned code on it so it might take a while before you can run homebrew on it.
@anubis- No you can only upgrade to firmware 3.02 OE if you have firmware 1.5 or 2.71 SE.

Does upgrading to 3.02oe kill my original 1.5 FW or does the recovery mode allow me to go back to 1.5 reliably?

3.02 oe is better for psp to ps3 connectivity, or the other things 3.02 gives you.

3.02 oeb is way better in my opinion , game icon shows up on m/s away you go.as for the ps3 bit ,not released until march in the uk .things can only get better. ,look at the beginning of this and not the end ,far from it i think .more saves will come eventually

Can someone please answer me, I've been here for like three years, asking questions, and not getting answers.
I have installed 3.02oe-A, tried to install the devhook so I can upgrade to 3.02oe-B, but when I go to devhook, it doesn't work.
Next To use the upgrade, I have no game150 folder to put it in, so I put it in game and it doesn't work.
Now I have gone back to 1.50
WHAT ARE THE THINGS I SHOULD INSTALL,
IN ORDER !

install 3.02 oe-a first. if there is no game150 folder create it x/psp/game150 and put the update folder inside simple..... no need for devhook oe-b does everything that devhook does plus more.
i had this same prob with no game150 folder and being abit scared of bricking i too was askin loads of questions.

is there some way to encode an eboot file with sony's signature key? im sure someone who has a 3.03 downgrader issnt releasing it, cuz they could make profit.

Hey, i have a little problem, i have installed on my psp 3.020e-b and have downloaded ISO'S of my ps1 games, but i can only get 1 game to work and that is Red Alert (c&c), ive tried lots of over games but they do not work they come to a screen and then my psp goes blank, any ideas plz, id be very happy to hear comments, ask for more details if needed
