I got all new computer parts for Christmas, and just finished putting it together. After turning it on, it looked good, for 5 seconds. It showed the motherboard screen, then immediately went to a message that said

    "ODDO: SAMSUNG CD-R/CD-RW DRIVE

    Press any key to continue..."

Another 5 seconds later, it went to a screen that said something like...

    "CMOS settings wrong.
    Overclocking Failed!
    Enter Setup to re-configure.
    Chassis Intruded !
    Fatal Error... System Halted!"

Thing is, on the motherboard screen, it says to press Delete to enter Setup. I do, and it just goes to that first screen, the "ODDO: SAMSUNG..." screen. Is this just a compatability error, or something I can fix myself?

By the way, I am not sure what kind of CD drive I have. Here are a few steps i've taken.

    1. I have removed the CMOS battery for 10 minutes and put it back in. I get the same error.

    2. I have unplugged my CD drive completely, and still get the error.

    3. I have checked the compatability of my parts, which can be found HERE.

    Thanks guys,

When I disconnected, it didn't come up with the ODDO: SAMSUNG CD-R/RW error, it came up with the other one about overclocking failed and etc.

well leave the cd rom disconnected and try entering the bios (setup screen) and select load defaults settings or something similar restart and it should work

but disconnect the external power cord 1st as some computers still have power even when shut down.
