my computer is about 5 years old now so I thought i'd take advantage of the post xmas sales and upgrade. My current motherboard is PCI and I want to upgrade to one more compatible with modern graphics cards etc, it's also sdram, so that'd mean upgrading ram at the same time? I can't see many newer mobos that work with sdram. My processor is 2.30ghz intel celeron.

I really don't know what to be looking for, but it'll be on the budget side. Something cheap enough to be compatible now and preferably able to work with future updates of gfx cards etc

as i c it ure probably are going to b building a new pc cause a new motherboard+ram+proc+video card is also going to require a new power supply

for proc a intel core 2 duo will be good a 1gb ram ddr2 a decent graphic card a 7600 from nvidia and a good power supply 400watt or more that will get u trough windows vista just fine
