When I plug my headphones into the socket on the internal cd/ dvd player on my pc , I dont get any sound. If I plug them into the general headphone socket on the pc , next to the usb ports at the foot of the pc , they work fine.

I cant find any sound setting that has low level volume or is muted.

Im not sure if this has ever worked since I had the pc (about 18 months ago).

Any help much appreciated as it currently means I have to stretch my headphones to the limit to reach my ears (unless I lie on the ground ! )

    Merry Xmas .....

that would seem to be a simple sound issue with the drive itself. i'm not sure of any way to fix such a thing, as i've never used a drive with the built-in headphone jack on my personal PCs.

the extension in the post above would work well as a way to bypass your issue altogether, though :)

Hi Basquiat - thanks for the suggestion.

I am still going to see if I can resolve the issue first , but if not , I might look at an extension.

Any more pointers to resolving the issue gratefully received.
