Finally, after choosing a hdtv (Sony 46x2000) I was happy with, I found out about HDMI 1.3 . However, when will this technology become available? How much will the tvs be? Moreover, is it worth making the jump to HD now, or to wait?

    Thanks

As far as I know, to date, the only component to use HDMI 1.3 is the PS3.

HDMI 1.3 does nothing for tvs without HDMI 1.3 ports. The only benefit to HDMI 1.3 is [bold]Deep Color[/bold] which is another feature tvs must support (and be capable of). At this time only the most expensive HD displays do.

The only HDMI 1.3 units on the market are Sony's PS3 and Toshiba's flagship HD-DVD player (model: HD-XA2). HD-XA2 supports Deep Color technology (up to 36-bits or 12-bits per channels using the RGB or Y-Pb-Pr color spaces). The PS3 isn't confirmed to support Deep Color technology.
