No more HEX editing. This version of PSP brew has proven be useful in many ways with the new firmware 3.02 OE-b. By renaming the eboot within PSP Brew, you save the problem with saving more than PSX emulated game. It has worked so far on of my own legal backups: MGS: VR missions, Castlevania SOTN, Silent Hill, Crash team racing and...Walt Disney World Magical Racing Tour.
(Insert lame excuse)
Try it out for yourselves and I hope you all have the same result.

This program also allows you to make custom backgrounds and icons for your games (being that they meet the size requirements that is). Also the program allows you to remove that annoying advert in front of your custom backgrounds about plaid pants by selecting unknown.png and pressing cancel. So no more Hot shots golf guessing.

Also, just in case this isn't common knowledge yet (Ive been to busy at work and with my own psp so I haven't been able to read much on the news front). PSP Content manager Version V1.5 can organize all your homebrew and ISO files. Just go under the 2.71 tab

I submitted this to qj, but this is faster

and again if this was already known please go easy on me

Maybe that's why I've had such good luck all along w/ DevHook and now w/ OE-B. b/c my eboots have always been identified as PSPBrew eboots. Might explain why I NEVER had savestate problems w/ DevHook and esp VCS. Good to know.

I just realized while customizing my eboots that they all had Hot Shots Golf as the name, I figured this couldnt be helping or hindering much so i changed it and tried it and its worked, 14 of mine work so far so I think its pretty much in cement now

Guess these people must not need this information,or would rather do things ass backwards with hex or some other complex prog or with an annoying patch.

and also, the latest psp brew (0.91) seemed to work, but it crashed twice on me while saving the eboot, so im gonna stick to the version 51 i already made 27 backups with. :)

Edit:
I also ran another test and renamed an eboot to something else (castlevania to Cheese T*ts) and it still located the save file, You may just have to run PSP brew and load and save the eboot through it will try again with a clean dump if this thread stays hot

Its funny how this is not common knowledge yet, but it just became one of QJ's hottest downloads after I submitted this news to them at 6 AM pst... curiouser and curiouser...

Hi there

not sure why, but even when I use pspbrew to rename my GT2 eboot, the game save shows hotshotsgolf2

I tried several times, diferent names... and got the same result

Any idea why?

my GT2 does the same thing. I got a custom icon0 and pic1 in the eboot as well.

What I dont understand is what you are talking about for renaming the eboot. I open min in pspbrew and rename it on the top where it shows the icon preview, but the eboot still is just called eboot. So you still need a seperate folder for each game in your games folder

Well I don't know why ppl have said goto an older version 0.51 it makes no difference ...

PSPBrew is only good for changing Graphics and Sound AND renaming the actual EBOOT filename (that comes up in the XMB Menu) ...

It does NOT allow renaming of the Hot Shots Golf 2 'Saved Game' FOLDER 'SCUS94476' which is the DISC_ID (under property in PSPBrew) ... this needs to be renamed to prevent overwriting (and so gets rid of the Hot Shots Golf 2 folder) ... just renaming the TITLE of the game will NOT do .. this won't solve the issue on it's own ...

Even the latest version 0.91 does not allow this so you still have to HexEdit the EBOOT to change the 'Game Save' folder name ... then it won't keep overwriting ...

cheers,
Gem

I have a question about a save game issue. Well the story is that I had an eboot of my FFVII game which I played and made it pretty far. Anyways, the file became corrupt somehow and I simply formatted my memory stick. I realized that I didn't have a copy of the eboot I was using so I made another eboot. However that created the problem of me not being able to play my saved game on the new eboot. I have been searching for awhile and haven't had any luck. Could anyone please tell me step by step what I need to do to change the gameid and such? I would greatly appreciate it.
