We received a free MP3 player and gave it to our daughter for X-mas. It has 512MB, so it's good enough for her first one. Anyway, we are trying to copy a few CD's to the MP3, and it's not working. The MP3 is connected to the USB - K drive, and we have a CD in the F Drive. It shows that they are on the K drive, but it's not showing that they've been put on the MP3. What am I missing? Sorry, but I'm pretty ignorant with these things!!!!!

    thread teleported to relevant forum.

you can't just 'copy' the cd audio tracks that way. what i use is this small and awesome (and lightning fast) freebie program --> http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/ to 'rip' the audio tracks to the hard drive in mp3 format (for instance). dead easy and very fast indeed, even has a 'freedb' button you can click on when the cd is in the drie, that connects to the internet and provides track and album info so it can automatically name all the tracks too

Audiograbber is fine. I've used it and have gotten good results. Plus it's free.

Another free program that I like is dBpowerAMP. It has more features. You can download codecs and "squish" your music files so that you can get more music onto your player.

You can get it here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm
