Well to start off, I couldn't find the Max Drive Pro, so I broke down and bought a ViperGC Extreme. It arrived in no time, and I had it all installed and ready to flash.

The USB does not connect. Turns out it's a faulty batch from divineo after much research into the matter. Waiting for a response.

So i thought, okay, I'll just use a dvd to flash it. It won't read the mini DVD-R's I bought from office depot (they all work according to the compatibility survey) .. It gives me a DRE when I try .. I've burned at several speeds, adjusted the pot to anything between 170 and 300 in increments of 10, and it will read original gamecube dvds every time.

What to do, what to do? What do you guys think? Just keep trying new media or wait for divineo to get back to me?

Wait for Divineo to get back to you.

The ViperGC might not be able to read burns yet since it still has the stock BIOS on it, which would account for why it can read originals but not your flash disc.

So i switched media to burn the cobra16.iso .. I ended up using memorex 16x DVD-R from real canadian superstore. The media code is RITEKF1. Worked like a charm :)
Now it reads my other office depot ritek g04 mini dvds .. ffs what a convoluted piece of crap mess. Now i just have to wait for them to get back to me regarding the usb and i can backup games!@!

thank you to this forum. It's a wealth of information.
