I bought a Compaq from wallyWorld In November & it was screwed up out the box ! Could'nt get past the windows opening page error messages - Windows improperly installed or incompletely installed So I returned it to Wallyworld ! So this one would be it's replacement! Thing is if I get it and have problems Newegg will repair or replace but not refund my purchase price ! always had good dealings with newegg but there's always a first time ! well hope someone can help ? Thanx again friends

Not bad, but anything with nascar and computer together = a big pile of crap in less then a year. id say dont go to tigerdirect for laptops go to bestbuy or circuit city. Tiger direct always has cheap deals.

i ordered this just yesterday actually... unlike what dude says above, the only way this could be a crappy deal, and not from tigerdirect, (don't think he read the whole post :D ) is if the motherboard on the system was crappy, but i've heard it's Aopen laptops redone, according to some customer reviews.... but companies don't mean much, it's what's inside that counts :D
i'll post here next week, and let ya know how it goes.... btw if u goto the manufacturers website, this model seems to be a modd'd version.. the hardware specs arn't the same as the one at the manufacturers website.

well, after receiving it, and a thorough evaluation, this is a very incredible deal on a laptop! i have yet to benchmark results, but it's very snappy, and runs very smoothly. i have yet to have any problems with it, or hiccups in performance. i'm sure i could if i ran some of the newer fps's on it, but of course that's what my sli desktop is for :p
but really, for 500$, this laptop CANNOT be beat. hands down, i'ld buy another just to have another lol, of course, i'ld be taking the nascar stickers off the 2nd one too hehe ;P
the only downside that i've found so far, is the fact it's socket 754, so you can only upgrade the processor to a mt-40, or ml-44, since the turion 64 x2's are not socket 754. but at the same time, a workload large enough to actually take advantage of the dual processors is unlikely, since 95% of any programs out there, arn't coded for dual processors.... i'm sure in the future more and more programs/games will be coded for multi core support, but once the market gets to that point, the laptop itself will be as outdated as a pentium laptop is these days... of course, if all you do is program on it, lol, well, ya... compilers don't care what you're running :D
so unless you do crazy stuff on it, like graphic editing or something odd, like trying to play games on a budget laptop, u'll be alright. as far as a general computer to listen to music, or to surf the net, this deal can't be beat. :)
    hope this helps!

Hey Roger, do you think it would be possible for me to get the nascar suite from you. I have some other suites that I could trade you for it.
