hi. i got a gamecube just recently. i got it used and it is in good condition it said. when i got it i played my games for about an hour and it just died. i tried to play it again and it died in about 5 minutes. i went online to look up troubleshooting for it and it said check this and that, clean this and that. so i cleaned everything really good and checked everything but it still died. so i checked to see if it was cooling properly and it turns out there is a crack where the fan is and the fan wont run. how can i fix this i.e. should i buy something and do a home reapair or should i go to gamestop and let them do it? please reply

I think your fan might have craced where the Bearings are so what you shoukld do is order another fan of nintendo if they dont have them then order one from Nitec Because they make GCN fans but youd also need Nintendo's special Screwdriver for their special screws so id just give it to a pro to change or just buy a whole new Gamecube there like 89.95au but you could get a 2nd hand one for like 40-50au

A standard 2" 12v computer fan will do just fine, you can find those fairly cheap. Just solder (or crimp) the wires together so you can use the original connector to near where the power switch is. It's the grey and black wires ;)
