I recently installed my X3CE modchip into my Xbox(1.6v). I put it back together and started it up. Here are some things that happen. The X3CE BIOS never boots, the external switch is ALWAYS red no matter what. The HD light will blink sometimes and then stops for a period of time. The LAN light blinks once or twice when i first turn it on then stops. Sometimes the Xbox will work fine and ill be able to play games off of the disk and get to the Xbox dashboard. Sometimes i get red and green blinking lights and its a black screen, and sometimes i get red and green blinking, the Xbox dashboard will start for like 3 seconds and then the system will shut off and restart itself over and over again. I was thinking maybe i dripped solder on the motherboard or ive got a cold solder joint?
yes check all of your solder points...sounds like there is a bad solder point somewhere on the board..
