I wanted to clear pretty much my whole C: Drive but can't seem to find those big files that are taking up the majority of space on the drive. How can I manually find and delete all of the files I have put on the drive?
If it's not a system drive, just reformat it; this will erase all of the files (or indexes of these files) on the drive and leave it totally "blank". I assume it is a system drive, though, since it's on drive letter "C". If you're looking for all of the "big files" to delete, then you can use the Windows "Search" tool; Go to the start menu, and choose "search on the right side; Choose "All Files and Folders". Under the menu "What Size is it?", choose "large". Under the "Advanced options" menu, uncheck "Search System folders" and "search hidden files and folders", so you don't erase anything important to Windows. Then, just run the search, leaving the search fields blank. Delete every file that comes up, unless they are important documents, pictures, etc.
take a look in C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\Temp\, i just looked at mine and its already at 1.4 gigs...and i just cleared it 2 days ago, of coarse i just reinstalled a ton of stuff but i imagine over time this folder can get really bloated.
