Hello im kind of new to this so dont call me a noob, but anyway i got a new psp on firmwire 2.71 and on the inside it says ic6001.
im just wondering what is the easiest way to emulate isos and is it safe to downgrade to 1.5?

you can downgrade but you have to use the TA-082 downgrader, not the normal one.

I you want to play ISOs, downgrading would be best but HEND is safer. Wen you downgrade, you can then upgrade to a version called 3.02 OE-B which support direct ISO launching. With HEND, you need to go through around 3 more steps to start ISO launching. It is really your choice but i reckon downgradeing is easier.

don't worry. You only really brick if you are stupid. Like pull the battery out or turn it off half way. I use an even riskier downgrader ages back. It was so scared while i was doing it but once it was done, i was so happy. If you do brick it, just take it back to the shops and say "I got it out of the box and switched it on but it didn't work" Good Luck with your PSP.

when you downgrade, you will have to upgrade to 3.02OE-B to play them. 3.02 OE-B also plays ISOs directly so it is perfect for you.

3.02 OE-B can play mp3s, movies, photos, go on the internet, play ISO, play homebrew. Everything a normal PSP can do plus more!. All you have to do is put the ISOs in thhe ISO folder and run them. Simple as that.

hi, i agree tat 3.02-oe-b is a very good customized firmwire, however i cannot get some of my iso games running!
i tried 2 verison of burnout legend, nba street showdown as well as MGSPO.
all games can be loaded from the XMB, however, once the loading screen appears, it will just stuck there, but my psp was not frozen tho. it will just take infinity to load and will never finish loading.
as such i have to resolve to using devhook, however i do not have any umd with me, thus i still not able to run the games above.
do any og you know any solution to such problems? thanks in advance!

i4k - You need a UMD to play those games. They don't work in no UMD mode
Meatwad3- On 3.02 OE-B, you can swap them from X to circle to what you enjoy. Devhook is scene as old now and 3.02 OE-B is the way to go.
