Sound Trouble

    hey guys i'm back again asking for stuff. well a friend of mine has a dell computer and the sound is not working, they tried different speakers but still no sound so i bought a sound card and installed it and yet still no sound can anyone tell me what the problem is. the sound card i bought was a sound blast PCI card by creative.

    have you installed the driver? check in the device manager if the sound card was installed properly.

    i installed the driver and everything else

    If there is no conflict in device manager try to go to Sounds and Audio Devices in control panel and check the settings. if the driver was installed successfully without problem you should be able to adjust it like the volume, etc. and play wav file to test the sound

    i tried that also, i adjusted it and checked the sound, and the devices, and played music while i was doing it to see if the sound worked and it just didnt work.

    I had about the same thing happen to me with my dell 8200, went too divice manger and uninstalled soundblaster live and rebooted and works fine now. Iam no tech,its just something i tried and it worked, i also has the soundblaster live disk if it had'nt as well.

    oh i see, i had a problem wiht one of my usb ports and i uninstalled the device and it worked once i rebooted, i'll try that and get back to u but i cant right now cuz i'm out of a car so, i'll update u
