The size of one of my hard drives differs with the actual capacity by 9 GB. This is a significant amount of space. Is this normal, or are there some hidden folders/files that I cannot see that are taking up this space?
are you using windows? in windows they use 1024 for computing instead of 1000. for example if you have 120Gbytes (120,000,000,000 bytes) windows 120,000,000,000 bytes / 1024 = 117187500 Kbytes 117187500 Kbytes / 1024 = 114440.91 Mbytes 114440.91 Mbytes / 1024 = 111.75 Gbytes so your 120Gbytes harddisk will only be 111.75 in windows.
