read projection hd tv

    i saw this bargain on a sony hd tv but it was a rear projection tv.
    is that any good?
    i've never seen a rear proojection tv.

    Got any more info than that? Like a model number? There are 2 types of RPTV, one is analogue, one is digital. Analogue is the old 3crt tube rptv. I don't see the point of getting that now. Digital RPTV has 4 variants, LCD, DLP, SXRD and D-ILA. Sony makes LCD and SXRD. SXRD is reflective like D-iLA and DLP, LCD is different in that light is shone through the LCD.

    I have a Sony SXRD KDS55A2000, rear projection LCD.

    Great TV.

    HD LCD projection. If you like the picture, go for it. I don't see the native resolution, but I think it is at least 720p native.
