    I have copied some of my movies and made pretty nice divx's out of them using Gordion Knot. But I would like to get the audio track off of them to get some sound clips of phrases and stuff. Is there a way to get the audio back off of a divx movie withouth going through the whole process again?

    You just open the avi-file with virtualdub , select Video/Direct_stream_copy and Audio/No_audio and save the avi-file with new name. This new avi-file is without audio.

    Thank you. But how do I isolate the audio?

    Another method you could try is to load that file into virtualdubmod and get into the Streams menu and click on stream list. Click on demux and give the file a name. After a few minutes youll have the audio off of the avi.

    Im pretty sure you can do this on VirtualDub, but I dont have that program right now and I cant remember most of the options available with it.

    Simplest technique:
    1. Open the move in VDub
    2. Audio --> Compression --> Whatever (none works best for me)
    3. File --> Save WAV
    4. If you selected PCM (no compression), just goto whatever program u use to encode MP3s or whatever and encode away
