I have a Matshita UJ-831D DVD reader/burner on my notebook and a LG DVD reader on my PC.
I have anyDVD, Clone dvd2, DVD Region+ CSS free, DVD Decrypter and DVd Shrink installed and up-to-date on both of them.
With my LG drive I can rip to HD any DVD I want but of course cannot burn them to disc.
So I usually use my notebook.
But since a couple of days it's stopped working.
At first I thought about software problems, but now I'm convinced that it's Mashita's fault, 'cause it cannot even detect Blank DVD (where Nero Tools detets it), doesn't even read original DVDs, and I've trown away so many Verbatim 8x now that I'm asking for help.
    DMA is enabled.

    WHAT SHOULD I DO????

    Clean the reader??
I really don't know what else could do the job ...

    help asap pleaseeee..
    thank you

try uninstalling and reinstalling the drive or just a firmware update may work
