I am talking about the CPU socket on the motherboard.
I have a bad motherboard that is socket mPGA 478B but all I can find on the net is socket 478 motherboards so I am wondering if these two boards can take the same processor.

I have the processor out and cleaned and can read what is on the top but my digital camera will not take a decent picture.

    It reads

    INTEL(M)©'02
    CELERON
    1.7GHZ/128/400/1.75V
    SL68C COSTA RICA
    3212A353-0929

The (M) is actually like ©, the M is inside of a circle like the C is inside of a circle.

thanks ddp; now the search for a board supporting 266 MHz RAM, what an odd combination. May have to upgrade to 333MHz RAM or just do it right and go with 400MHz with some low memory timings. Will try and get only new motherboard if I can find one on the net, it is rare to find one with 266 MHz RAM capability.

That is the board I preferred because it has 3 PCI slots instead of two.

    [bold]DO NOT BUY FROM WWW.GEARXS.COM[/bold]

The packaging was horrible, there was not any.
Gearxs took the motherboard box and put inside a fed-ex box without any Cheeto's. The plastic anti static covering the board has a hole from the motherboard and many easily noticeable indentions from the poor packaging.
I am very very lucky that this board actually works. I am so glad that it does because I do not want to deal with them anymore.
I found there bbb report which I should have done before buying from them; They have a unsatisfactory record. It makes a difference when you search on bbb if you have put .com after GearXS.

I called sales before buying and talked to a clear English speaking person.

I called customer service and talked to someone that I could hardly understand.

I should just stick to newegg from now on and compromise so I only buy from them. They are great!
