intel d945psn help

    i have recently bought an intel 945psn motherboard from a friend and when i boot it up with the xp disk in it doesnt read it it just warms up then sits there with a blinking underscore in the upper hand corner. any help would be nice

    moved to correct forum. does the bios sees the drives? does it show the intel logo screen when 1st powering up? is the data cable to the hd & rom drive if both are on it in the right way. if both drives are on same data cable, is the hd jumpered as master & the rom drive jumpered slave?
