This is a tutorial that will show you how to convert Videos to your Ipod for free. The tutorial is for people who have an ipod video. You will need: Super converter. You can download it HERE Once you have the software you will need to install it.(use the default settings) just to make sure we've all got the same thing it looks like this : Now let's get started. So open up the program, and got to 1) select an output container And change it to "Apple ipod" Leave the rest as it is. Next, drag and drop the video file you wish to convert into the box at the bottom of Super. Then tick it,now click on encode active files(don't use your computer while the conversion is happening). And you're all done! All you need to do now is take the converted file which is by default placed in C:\Program files\erightsoft\super(you can change this by right clicking anywhere on super)and drag and drop it onto the little Ipod icon in itunes. If the image seems stretched or distorted you can solve this by making the scale 368x208 scale, and also make sure you have widescreen mode 'ON' on you ipod's video settings http://apple.kudosnetwork.co.uk/?ref=2656
*Request Stickie* as several people always ask this question! Instead of asking it to be stickied,i asked lethal to add it to his stickie containing all the conversion tutorials.
Thats is even better idea, you could post it there, or is it closed? Edit- Oh, he already added it! Thanks Lethal, and bunny_c
hey man this converter is GOLDEN bro... only thing is how can I keep the file in widescreen format so the two black bars are on top and bottom? let me know please...thanks!
the black bars you see are not part of the actual screen. so no,you can't take them off. it's not like on your tv where you get two black bars while watching a movie.
wait you said that i can't take off the black bars...is that correct? i dont want to take them off but when it converted the file it removed them and the picture is more square now then rectangular....
here are the two images.... that's the file AFTER it is converted (notice that it's fullscreen and does not have the black bar on top and bottom) and that's how the original file is (the DVDrip file) i know it's hard to see because my windows movie maker was being stupid and so I just took a quick snap with my phone...now is it clearer? the converted file isn't in "widescreen" mode anymore while the original one was...and I would like to keep it in widescreen...thanks

do you mean that when you put it on your ipod the black bars reappear or disappear? thanks for uploading the photos. from what i understand it's a size problem so try playing around with the format: keep posting,i'm sure we can resolve this problem.
thanks for the help...and what i mean is that when i convert from MPG,MPEG,AVI to MP4 the black bars disappear...and when its no my ipod they do not appear...and it KIND OF distorts the image of the picture...and plus I just like watching movies in widescreen format better...
eventually,i think isee what you mean. you don't like the way the image seems stretched when you take the black bars off.you wish the image had the black bars but wasn't stretched. is that it? that's a problem with the video scale so just play around with it till you get it right.0 post back when the problem's resolved.

you can solve the streching by using the 368x208 scale, also make sure you have widescreen mode 'ON' on you ipod's video settings
