My latest DivX movies audio is way too quiet. How can I make the audio file louder? Freeware programs are much more preferable :)

If you have an mp3 file download mp3gain(free):
    http://www.geocities.com/mp3gain/

If you dont know how to separate the audio from the video, this is how you do it:

Download virtualdubmod(free) and load the movie into the program. Get into the streams menu and click on stream list. Just click on demux and give the audio file a name. Then just run it through mp3gain. After youve fixed up the audio, get back into vdubmod and load the movie again. Get back into stream list and disable the original audio file by clicking disable. Click on add and select the new audio file. Now get into the video menu and make sure Direct Stream copy is enabled.
    Save your file.
