my tv also only plays up to 1080i. how does the picture using a hd dvd player or blu ray compare to using an upconverter?
HD-DVD or Blu-Ray that all you need, these two compared to upconverter not even something anyone can debate on.
Your set is only capable of 720p or 768p output although it can except a signal up to 1080i resolution. Standard-Def and High-Def look similar on small screens. HDTV is really a big screen technology and makes watching a large screen more enjoyable. Ced
Hi diabolos, My tv is the Sony HDTV KF-E50A10.I understand that it will accept both a 720P and 1080I signal but only displays a 720P( 768P) image. My question is, will for example, the Toshiba HD A2 really give that MUCH GREATER PQ for my standard dvd"s than my Toshiba upconverting SD-4980 set at 720P ? Thank You for any help dvddiva
I just contacted Sony live chat to verify that my Sony KF-E50A10 will display both the 720P and 1080i image.
