I have been using the PS3 for about a week, call of duty had no problems with. However on RFOM when you are watching the movies in between boards anytime there is an explosion my TV screen goes totally blue similar to when there is no signal being sent to it.

It has happened while playing DVD's as well, although the DVD issue seems to be random while the RFOM happens only during explosions or really bright lighted areas when you pick up health?

Please help its driving me crazy.

question are you using hdmi or HDTV the reason i ask is rfom has issues with certain tv sets and converting the hdmi and HDTV signals to a standard format so if you do not have HDTV or hdmi compatible source the game crashes hangs or freezes due to the bad bluray tv converter they ave placed in the console

I have a HDTV that supports 1080i 720p and 480i. I am connected via HD component cables to the YPbPr connections. No HDMI port was on my TV.

Can you give us more information and links on this "bad bluray tv converter" you mentioned? Is it a software issue that can be fixed by an update or a hardware issue?

Would it help if I switched back to regular component cables or S-Video?

WTF....LOL...I'm waiting on a link for this myself.....I bet he wont come back with one.

Microsoft: Ps3 cant do 60fps on 1080p. Guess what they were WRONG!!!!!
(11/19/05 - 9/19/06) Microsoft: Sony's 1080p support on PS3 is all Hype and Not Needed.
(9/20/06) Microsoft: Xbox 360 to add 1080p support.

Do you have the same issues when using those connections? I don't think you would want to have to stick to those connections if you have an HDTV, but it may help in troubleshooting to know if you have the same problems when hooked up that way. Also, some other things you may want to try, if you're lucky enough to have another HDTV you should see if you have the same issues when hooked up to that one, and you may also want to try returning the PS3 and getting another one, maybe you just got unlucky and got a faulty unit.

I have had a similar problem, only it is with audio, the sound just cuts out when ever it is too loud! I think it may be my old reciver, but I could be wrong... has anyone else had this problem?
