I am starting my home theater pc and have a few questions. I hope to get input from others out there on things they have EXPERIENCED personally or have done extensive research on. Also I hope to provide help to others with what I have learned and how my system works out. Here is where I am at so far. Running HDTV (soon to be HD Projector)and DVI Monitor w/ logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. anyone know of a good rack to use by couch for keyboard and mouse instead of using my lap and couch cushion? Im lazy and no longer use a desk at all. Monitor sits next to comfy couch! Just bought new Gigabyte MB and CORE 2 2.13 CPU w/ 1GB MEM and 500gb Western Digital SATA II. I am about to place an order for an ASUS EN7600 GT Video card. I have only found a few cards that support HDMI vs. composite HDTV out and this is only one with a. good reviews and b. accompaniedby a DVI output vs VGA. Unfortunately these cards only come as high 256 mb but I'm not really a big gamer so no big deal. (I do hope to be able to play Diablo with good res on my tv or projector) If anyone has experience with this card or similar, plz let me what you have found. Next thing I need is a sound card. I want to run full 7.1 surround to my existing Denon receiver. I have heard conflicting reviews of cards out there that they don't work well when meshing with home theater receivers vs pc surround systems. Is anyone currently running 7.1 card directly to 7.1 home theater receiver without any static, crackle or otherwise negative results? If so, what are you using and why? Also, if you have tried anything in regars to this that failed, that would also be good to know. thx The final thing I will need is an HTPC case. I am looking at either the thermaltake (or thermalrock) mystic and bach series. This will be my last purchase however and hope that some newer, better looking/ functioning models will be out in the next 6 months to year. Thanks in advance!
