I would like to add good karaoke software to my HTPC as well. Im not interested in one where I make my own mp3 into karoake. I would like one that I can just download the songs with vocals removed (or turned down to barely audible) and real time lyrics on my screen. I have googled and sen far too many on the market to know which ones are good and which ones suck. Anybody else currently use one? Likes and dislikes?
For karaoke on my computer all I did was find a plugin so it will play karaoke files using windows media player. I had to find a program that would rip the cd+g's properly.
I use Ultrastar. it is the PC version of SingStar(PS2), it is open source so just download it. there are some torrents around for downloading the song files but I am not sure of the legality of this. Some of these have the vocals removed some don't - or so I am told...
