Epson Perfection Scanner

I was looking to make the box covers using my original store bought copy of movies but is using a scanner the best wat to do this...i see some people make custom box covers but i really would like to use my original if possible..just wandering who here uses a scanner and what are the results...here's the 1 im looking at getting...
