New Computer

I posted threads earlier about RAM and graphics cards and other crap. Well I realized theres just too many flaws, so i'm getting a new one.
I'm looking for suggestions. Here are a few things I want:

1-2 gb of RAM

reg. mouse reg. keyboard.

a decent (not as expensive) AMD processor with PCI-E or agp 8x

and decent grahpics and sound. (getting a new graphics card anyway)

50-100gb hard drive.

and no other accesroies

AND in the range of 500-1,000 dollars

I'd prefer NOT a new monitor but if its good one in the range of 100-150

for $100 you will have no problem building a good system.
RAM: OCZ, Corsair or Crucial Technologies
something like a 667 or 800

I can not reccoment a processor or motherboard as i do not use AMD, I bought an MSI motherboard.

Graphics card: PCI-E XFX GeForce 7600GT 256 or above

Sound card may not be needed if you get a motherboard with a good on board Hi Def. audio like my MSI. You would only need it if you wanted really high end sound because my on board 8 channel HD audio sounds great through a surround system.

Mouse & keyboard is more a personal choice. I like logitec products.

Hard drive i would go much bigger than 100GB seeing that you can get a 250GB Western digital or Seagate at Newegg.com for about $80-$90

Case: Gigabyte Posiedon-Black (for ATX motherboards)
Power supply: Enermax 620 watts

I bought all my parts at Newegg.com, they are a great store with really good prices. The motherboard will be your most important choice. Check them out really closely to make sure it has everything you want. I really would not spend under $100 on one as it is the most important part you will buy for your new system.

 

Ok, well I can deal with intel but i just want to know if there is a good computer out there for 500-600 dollars. with some of my specs

not really gonna be that picky but 1gb ram, decent processor with a PCI-E or AGP 8x and small hard drive (have 500gb external). intergrated sound and good graphics

take a look at this I think this is a good deal but does anyone know about AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+. Is that any good?? and is it PCI-e or what? some help would be appreciated.

Oh and Krkm it looks like a good deal with all the parts but the only problem is I'm really not good enough to put all this into a empty system, if there was a way to put this all in to a computer and order it tell me and i'll look in to it.

RAM isn't as good but I have 500 to update it with anyway so that one might be better but still not sure yet.

if i where you i would choose the next one down the 256MB NVIDIA Geforce 7300LE TurboCache-E521 for the video card tho

also windows home edition sucks i recammend windows xp professional i had home edition it was slow asap i bought xp pro

 

k, thanks I think i'm gonna get it, and the good thing is I can always update it at anytime with the newest slots.

 

Here's the thing though, if I could get a computer that came with the battery the proccessor already in it I probably would buy parts seperate.

oh, well I looked it up and I didn't get that many good reviews I just don't know if it's worth the money. I was gonna get like a good 250 dollar won in the summer though but I think the intergrated is allright for now, still havne't ordered anything yet so keep giving ideas.

 

I was also thinking about upgrading my RAM to 2gb but what's the diffrence between 2DIMMs-E521 and 4DIMMs-E521??

Yes, although I don't see where you're pricing this from... Go with the 3800 x2.
