memory upgrade

    Hi

    This might be a stupid question but I don’t know the answer so here goes I have a laptop with 512 memory I want to upgrade to a gig I have 2 memory slots so can I just buy another 512 to put in the author slot to make a gig or to I need to buy a gig

    what does the manual say for total ram capacity because if 1gig total than each slot can max out at 512meg?

    so is up to you whether have 1gig or 1.5gig as you can get either another 512meg or 1gig depending on your wallet.
