what if the DVD only have closed caption (not subtitle), any way I can strip it out as a text file ? cause all softwares I know only can strip subtitle.
You know Ive never really thought about that... If youre using smartripper, try getting into the stream processing menu and see whether there is a closed captioning stream... Another method you could try is to download the subtitles off of the web, if they're available. Heres a good site that has links to some places where you can download subtitles. http://www.freestuffplaza.com/subtitles.htm
You do it the same way that you rip subtitles: Rip your DVD to harddrive, then open your .ifo file with SubRip and rip the closed captions.
thanks ,threeten. but i bet you never try to rip "CC" yourself . as I know, subrip only can detect "subtitle" but not "cc" . you can't see any "cc" infromation in SubRip. can't you ?
Hey, I found this guide while trying to help anothr poster. Maybe this could help you out: http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ccguide.htm
hart I don't know what movie you are trying to rip, but I have ripped cc's with SubRip many times and never had a problem. Simply select your .ifo file from SubRip and a box will pop up that says, "closed captions detected". It is really no more complicated than that. Perhaps you are trying to rip cc's from a movie that doesn't have them.
