    Hi,

I just made my first divx out of a dvd using gknot (with the guide form this site), but there is an audio problem.
The audio volume is quite low and when I scroll back or forward in the movie the sound stops and never returns. I tried several players and they all give the same result.
Does anybody have an answer to this?

    Thanks in advance,
    Frites...
    Is this a known problem

This is not a permanent solution:

Download the AC3filter and use this to decode your AC3 audio. In the configuration menu, you can increase the sound by getting into the Main Tab and under Gains, increase the Master levels.

BTW, did you test out the audio file before you muxed it with the movie? If so how did it sound?_X_X_X_X_X_[small]Life is but a dream...so wake me up already!!![/small]

    thanks for the quick reply...
I'll try to config the ac3-filter to increase the volume when I finished my day at work :)
Do you also know where I can search for an answer for that other problem (sound stops...)?

    Thanks,
    Frites

Well you can try resaving the avi with virtualdubmod.
Load the avi into vdubmod, make sure that Direct Stream Copy is selected in the video menu and then save the file.

Direct stream copy is selected already for your audio so you dont have to worry about it. if you want to make sure, get into the streams menu and click on stream list. Right click on the audio file and select Direct Stream copy if it isnt selected.

    It's also solved now.
I thought I had the 0.63b ac3-filter but is was the 0.61 and it seems it couldn't handle the audio correct...

    Thanks again,
    Frites
